Is there a relationship between hemorrhoids and alcohol consumption?

There is a relationship between hemorrhoids and alcohol consumption. Hemorrhoids are a mass of varicose veins that generally cause the anal pad to shift downward and blood flow to the perianal subcutaneous vascular plexus to stagnate when abdominal pressure increases or when bowel movements are difficult. Chronic alcohol consumption can lead to inflammation of the hemorrhoidal plexus vessels as well as hemorrhoidal phlebitis, which can lead to fibrosis, brittleness, thinning, and local varicose veins in the perianal vascular wall, resulting in impaired upward venous reflux. The lack of venous valves in the rectal veins and their branches makes it difficult for blood to return and easily stagnate, resulting in the formation of hemorrhoids. Drinking alcohol also stimulates the anus and aggravates local edema around the anus, thus causing hemorrhoids. So, hemorrhoids and drinking are very related.
