Glansitis can be painful and the pain is mainly confined to the inflamed area. Glansitis may be accompanied by localized erosion of the glans and foreskin, pain in the glans and foreskin area, and a purulent or white flocculent discharge. The pain can be gradually relieved after the inflammation is controlled and the mucous membrane gradually heals normally. The type of infection needs to be clarified and targeted treatment is needed to cure glansitis early. Most of them are caused by bacterial infections and require the use of anti-infective drugs. Some glansitis is caused by fungi, and antibiotic treatment is usually ineffective, requiring the use of antifungal drugs. A small number of patients may have a combination of trichomoniasis, which requires anti-trichomonas treatment for complete cure. When glansitis is completely cured, the local pain of the glans and foreskin can be relieved and disappear, but painful symptoms will appear in the acute stage.
