When must the prostate be removed

Prostatectomy is an option for the treatment of early and some locally progressive stages of prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer is a common malignant tumor in older men, which often has no obvious symptoms in the early stage and is often found during physical examination. Symptoms of prostate cancer include obstruction of the lower urinary tract, such as frequent urination, urgency, and difficulty in urination, etc. If it metastasizes to other organs, it will also show corresponding symptoms.
For early stage and some tumors in locally progressive stages, removal of the prostate is required. Early stage means that the organ is limited and the tumor is only located in the inner part of the prostate, at this time, radical prostatectomy can achieve good therapeutic effect and may even be cured.
Locally progressive stage means that the tumor has broken through the envelope of the prostate but has not metastasized, and radical prostatectomy is feasible if the surgery is assessed to be tolerated and a good outcome is expected.
