What is Shen Que point

Shen Que point, also known as Qi He and Qi She, is an acupuncture point in the navel and belly button, and belongs to one of the eight Qi meridians, the Ren and Yin veins, known as the Sea of the Ren. Shen Que refers to the changeable and unpredictable, and Que refers to the palace. The fetus relies on the Shen Que, which is the navel and umbilical cord, to transport nutrients, hence the name Shen Que point. Because of its special location, the Shen Que point is generally used clinically for moxibustion rather than acupuncture treatment. Moxibustion can be used to tonify kidney qi with salt moxibustion, and to warm the spleen and stomach with ginger and sophora cake moxibustion, so it is a relatively important health care point. In addition to being used for treatment, moxibustion can be used at leisure time to improve immunity and strengthen the body by moxibustion at Shen Que point.
