Generally speaking, after the scalded cold water soak for three hours is still very painful, mostly because of skin and nerve damage, local tissue edema. After the scald, in the acute stage, the use of cold water soaking or ice packs can play a role in relieving pain and reducing edema. If it still hurts after 3 hours of using cold water immersion, then consider the skin and nerves damaged by the scald, and cause local tissue edema. Shallow Ⅱ degree scald has been involved in the epidermis of the hair layer and the papillary layer of the dermis, manifested as local redness and swelling, blister formation, the wound surface is red and moist, the pain is obvious; and the deep Ⅱ degree refers to the involvement of the dermis below the papillary layer, i.e., the reticulation layer, manifested as blisters, the wound surface is red and white, slightly wet, the pain phase is more sluggish. When the pain has not disappeared after soaking in cold water, it is recommended to go to the hospital and standardize the treatment.
