Stage III renal clear cell carcinoma is also known as locally progressive renal cancer, and the treatment mainly includes surgical treatment and immunotherapy. For stage III renal cancer that has not been resected cleanly, intraoperative or postoperative radiotherapy is feasible.
1. Surgical treatment: radical nephrectomy is preferred. The scope of resection includes the affected kidney, regional enlarged lymph nodes, perinephric fat, perinephric fascia, ureter above the bifurcation of iliac vessels. If the tumor involves the adrenal gland, the ipsilateral adrenal gland needs to be removed.
When the tumor is large, renal artery embolization should be performed preoperatively to reduce intraoperative bleeding. Cancer clots in the deep vein or inferior vena cava should be removed at the same time. For stage III renal cancer that has not been resected cleanly, intraoperative or postoperative radiotherapy is feasible.
2. Immunotherapy: Interleukin 2, interferon α and other biological agents are commonly used in immunotherapy for prevention and treatment of metastatic cancer.
If diagnosed with stage III renal clear cell carcinoma, one should go to hospital for treatment as early as possible.
