Jiao Sanxian refers to Jiao Liuxinqu, Jiao Shanzha and Jiao Maimao, these three medicines and Chicken Neijin boiled in water are usually taken for 3 days, if there is no relief of symptoms, the medicine should be stopped and medical attention should be sought. Jiao Liuxinqu, Jiao Shanzha, Jiao Maimao have the efficacy of eliminating food and removing stagnation, and are suitable for food and drink stagnation, indigestion, abdominal distension and other symptoms. Chicken Nei Jin has the efficacy of eliminating food and strengthening the stomach, astringent essence and stopping ejaculation (consolidating semen and preventing spermatorrhea), and is suitable for treating food and drink stagnation, vomiting, pediatric chancre (a kind of children’s chronic disease manifesting as emaciation, abnormal eating and drinking, abdominal distension, thinning of hair, withering and yellowing of the hair), spermatorrhea, enuresis, and urination, and astringent pain in urination. The adverse effects and contraindications of Jiao Liuxinqu, Jiao Shanzha, Jiao Maidu and Jin Naijin are not clear. Jiao Shanzhaosha should be used with caution for those with excessive gastric acid secretion; Jiao Maihaosha should not be used by lactating women; and Chicken Nei Jin should be used with caution for those with spleen deficiency and no accumulation and stagnation.
