Fibroids that keep bleeding are considered to be probably submucosal fibroids or fibroids in the myometrium. As the fibroids protrude into the uterine cavity, the bleeding is more frequent at the time of menstruation or there is irregular vaginal bleeding. In either type of fibroid bleeding, if the bleeding persists, symptomatic treatment can be given by first stopping the bleeding with medications such as Yunnan Baiyao capsules, Zhi Kang capsules, and if necessary, estrogen and progestin drugs. If oral medications are not effective, intramuscular injections such as injectable hemagglutinin and contractin can be used to promote uterine contraction and reduce bleeding. If the effect of medication is not good, surgical treatment is the only option. Most submucosal fibroids are treated by hysteroscopic myomectomy with curettage, while fibroids in the myometrium can be treated by myomectomy depending on their location.
