At present, the gold standard for diagnosing cholangiocarcinoma is pathological tissue biopsy. If patients find abnormalities in CT, ultrasound, tumor markers and other examinations suspecting cholangiocarcinoma, tissue biopsy is recommended to clarify.
Cholangiocarcinoma is a malignant neoplastic disease of bile ducts. Patients with cholangiocarcinoma may have clinical symptoms such as right upper abdominal pain, jaundice, nausea, fever and so on, depending on the degree of development of the disease.
At present, there are many methods that can help diagnose bile duct cancer such as abdominal ultrasound, CT, retrograde cholangiopancreatography, MRI, etc. However, the gold standard for diagnosis of bile duct cancer is pathology test. If patients are highly suspected of bile duct cancer after other relevant examinations, they usually need to undergo pathology biopsy for clarification.
If patients suspect that they have bile duct cancer, they can go to Hepatobiliary Department or General Surgery Department of regular hospitals for consultation, and under the guidance of doctors, they can carry out corresponding examinations and cooperate with doctors in taking necessary medical histories, so as to clearly determine whether bile duct cancer has occurred or not, and then carry out necessary treatments in a timely manner.
