What causes abnormal uterine bleeding

Abnormal uterine bleeding may be caused by endometrial polyps, ovulation disorder uterine bleeding, endometrial cancer, submucosal fibroids and other diseases.
1. Endometrial polyp is a common uterine pathology with overgrowth of localized uterine lining, which is prevalent in women of childbearing age and the incidence increases with age. It usually manifests as non-menstrual bleeding, i.e. extra bleeding between menstrual periods, and may also present with symptoms such as excessive menstruation, prolonged menstrual period and infertility.
2. Ovulatory disorders uterine bleeding mainly manifests in menstrual cycle disorders, the amount of bleeding varies, and sometimes it may cause hemorrhage or anemia, and patients are advised to seek medical treatment in time.
3. Endometrial cancer is a group of epithelial malignant tumors occurring in the endometrium, with adenocarcinoma originating from endometrial glands being the most common. It is common in peri-menopausal and postmenopausal women and usually manifests as vaginal bleeding, abnormal vaginal discharge and other symptoms, and may also present with lower abdominal distension and pain.
4. Uterine submucous fibroid is the most common benign fibroid of female genitalia, which can cause abnormal uterine bleeding, and may also have symptoms such as increased menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual period, lower abdominal mass, leucorrhea, frequent urination, constipation, anal swelling and so on.
Abnormal uterine bleeding may also be caused by other factors, such as cervical cancer or endocrine abnormalities. Therefore, abnormal uterine bleeding should be consulted in time, and targeted treatment should be given after the cause is clarified by the doctor. If it is not detected in time, it may lead to infertility and seriously threaten the patient’s health.
