How to use the antigen test card

The steps for using the antigen test card include hand washing, preparation of items, intranasal sampling, and interpretation of results. The antigen test is a novel coronavirus antigen test. It is used as follows: 1. Hand washing: Wash your hands before using the antigen test card. 2. Prepare items: Check for any breakage or missing items, ensure the temperature is 14~30℃, and the self-tester performs nasal cleansing. Open the outer package of the test card and avoid hand contact with the swab head. 3. Intra-nasal sampling: The tester tilts his/her head back, fully exposes the nasal cavity, inserts the swab into the nasal cavity for 1~1.5 cm, and then rotates it for at least 4 turns, and then carries out the same operation on the other side of the nasal cavity. 4. Interpretation of results: After the sampling operation is completed, the swab head should be mixed with the preservation fluid, and the swab head should be squeezed back and forth on the outer wall of the sampling tube at least 5 times for more than 30 seconds, and then wait for a certain period of time for the results to be interpreted. There are three kinds of results, when “C” and “T” are colorful, no matter the color of the band at “T” is dark or light, it is positive. A negative result is when “C” shows color and “T” does not show a band. No color at “C” and no band at “T” is considered invalid. Antigen testing cannot be used to diagnose novel coronavirus infections, and nucleic acid testing is required for patients who test positive for novel coronavirus antigen.
