What are the ways to lower urinary protein

Proteinuria is divided into physiologic and pathologic. Physiological proteinuria will usually return to normal after removing relevant factors; pathological proteinuria includes general treatment, drug treatment, renal replacement therapy and so on.
1. Physiological: proteinuria may occur after strenuous exercise, consuming large amount of high protein food, fever, low temperature, etc. It will usually return to normal after removing related factors, and no special treatment is needed.
2. Pathologic: including chronic glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, etc. The treatment is divided into general treatment, medication and dialysis treatment.
Take chronic glomerulonephritis as an example, the general treatment includes low-salt, low-fat, high-quality and low-protein diet; medication includes valsartan, chlorosartan, enalapril, prednisone, cyclophosphamide, etc., which should be used under the guidance of physicians; and patients who have progressed to end-stage renal disease should receive timely renal substitution therapy, including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and renal transplantation.
Patients with proteinuria should go to the hospital in time to see a doctor, identify the cause under the guidance of a professional physician, and follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized treatment.
