Minimally invasive NUSS surgery has become more and more common in China in recent years, and many patients with funnel chest have benefited from it. However, the traditional view is that NUSS surgery is only applicable to patients under 15 years of age, which is regrettable for many older patients. Through unremitting research and practice, some experts and units in China have begun to apply this minimally invasive surgery to patients over 15 years of age, and have achieved certain efficacy. The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery of Wuhan Tongji Hospital has performed NUSS surgery on many patients over 20 years old or even over 30 years old, and the shape of the patient’s chest has been significantly improved after the surgery.
