What is dry mouth and night sweats?



Dry mouth and night sweating (abnormal sweating after going to sleep and stopping after waking up) are mostly caused by yin deficiency, which can be categorized into heart yin deficiency, lung yin deficiency and kidney yin deficiency.

1. Heart yin deficiency: In addition to dry mouth and night sweating, the clinical manifestations include heartburn, panic, insomnia, and excessive dreaming.

2. Lung yin deficiency: in addition to dry mouth and night sweating, the clinical manifestations include dry cough without sputum, or sputum is small and sticky, not easy to cough up, or sputum with blood, hoarse voice, dry mouth and throat, and other symptoms.

3. Kidney Yin deficiency: besides dry mouth and night sweating, clinical manifestations include lumbar and knee soreness and weakness (the feeling of soreness and weakness of the waist and knees), dizziness and tinnitus, loose teeth, spermatorrhea and premature ejaculation, insomnia and forgetfulness, dryness of the mouth and throat, heartburn and heat (heat of the hearts of the hands and the feet, and self-consciousness and heat of the heart and chest), and short and yellowish urine, and so on.
