Scarring, also known as keloid scarring, cannot be completely removed, but can only be improved through a number of treatments. Different periods and types of scarring have different treatment options, and there is no such thing as “the fastest way to get rid of scarring”.
Commonly used ways to improve scarring include medication, laser treatment, surgery, etc. Usually, we need to choose the appropriate treatment according to the patient’s symptoms and condition to improve scarring.
1. Medication: In the early stage of scar formation, some ointments, such as silicone gel and cumquat cream, can be applied externally to inhibit scar proliferation and alleviate local symptoms; if scar proliferation is more obvious, glucocorticosteroid injections, such as Triamcinolone acetonide injection, etc., can also be used locally.
2. Laser treatment: The high energy generated by laser can be used to act on the scar tissues, thus promoting the regeneration of collagen and rearrangement of collagen fibers, and improving the state of scar, commonly used lasers include carbon dioxide fractional laser, erbium laser, and so on.
3. Surgery: If the effect of conservative treatment is not good, and the scar proliferation is serious, surgical excision treatment can be taken, and after the surgery, localized tension-reducing suture is also needed to improve the skin condition, but it should be noted that there is a risk of re-formation of keloid scars after the surgery.
It is recommended that the patient after a clear diagnosis, under the guidance of the doctor reasonable medication, do not blindly self-medication, in order to avoid adverse reactions, delay the condition.
