People with HIV do not have visible scar-like manifestations. When a patient is newly infected with HIV, there is no such thing as scarring due to so-called skin damage. The majority of patients will have flu-like symptoms, such as headache, fever, fatigue, sore throat and swollen lymph nodes, which are more common. When the patient really enters the stage of AIDS, the main manifestations are a variety of conditional infections, as well as fever, wasting, fatigue, and so on. Conditional infections, such as uncontrolled severe pneumonia, tuberculosis, or skin tumors, are not typically characterized by scarring.
