What should I pay attention to in home first aid for stroke patients?

The timely and proper first aid at home after stroke is crucial to the patient’s rehabilitation. First aid at home for stroke patients should pay attention to the following points: 1. Do not panic when you find a patient with an attack, stay calm, let the patient lie in bed and contact the hospital emergency center as soon as possible. 2.Stroke is divided into two kinds: hemorrhagic and ischemic, so do not self-medicate when the diagnosis is not clear. 3.Master the correct handling method. First of all, do not rush to pick up the patient from the ground, it is best for 2-3 people to hold the patient flat on the bed at the same time, with the head slightly elevated to avoid vibration; secondly, loosen the patient’s collar, take out the dentures, and tilt the head to the side when vomiting to avoid blocking the respiratory tract with vomitus leading to asphyxiation or accidental aspiration. For patients with convulsions, use a towel or chopsticks between the upper and lower teeth to prevent biting the tongue. If the patient has symptoms such as shortness of breath and phlegm in the throat, insert a plastic tube or rubber tube into his throat and suck out the phlegm by mouth at the other end. 4. . The patient should be moved as little as possible before being sent to the hospital. The patient should be carried on a stretcher when transferring. If the patient is carried up the stairs, the patient’s head should be in a high position and the feet in a low position, which can reduce cerebral congestion. On the way to the hospital, family members need to hold the patient’s head with both hands to avoid head shaking. 5. Pay attention to comforting the patient and relieving the patient’s tension. Do not cry sadly or call the patient loudly to avoid causing stress to the patient.
