The manifestations that may appear before the death of terminal cancer patients include: severe pain, cachexia, severe body cavity effusion, neuropsychiatric symptoms and so on.
1. Severe pain: the vast majority of cancer patients will have severe pain in the advanced stage, especially if the tumor invades and compresses large nerves or bone metastasis occurs. Many advanced cancer patients need to use strong painkillers such as morphine for a long time.
2. Malignant disease: most patients with malignant tumors will have serious eating disorders in the late stage, while cancer itself is a consumptive disease, the rapid proliferation of tumor cells will rob a lot of nutrients and energy, so the patients will have serious malignant disease before their death, which is manifested as extreme emaciation, anemia, swelling of the lower limbs and so on.
3. Severe fluid accumulation in the body cavity: pleural or peritoneal metastasis often occurs in the late stage of malignant tumor, which leads to a large amount of pleural fluid or ascites, mostly bloody, which is difficult to be controlled by conventional treatment. The patient manifests abdominal distension, thoracic dilatation and severe dyspnea.
4. Mental symptoms: due to severe pain, long-term disease torture, malnutrition, imbalance of homeostasis in the body’s internal environment and other factors, the patient will seriously affect the mental state, the patient may experience delirium, anxiety, depression, lethargy, coma and other mental symptoms, until death.
