Diet for breast cancer patients

Many patients mistakenly believe that breast cancer has some relationship with diet, and thus they do not eat all the foods they used to like. In fact, breast cancer is caused by a combination of factors, and a high-fat diet is one of the possible triggers. Some people think that chicken, eggs and seafood are “hairy” foods, so eating more of them will lead to various cancers and should be avoided. From the perspective of Western medicine, there is no special food that needs to be avoided, but if you are also undergoing Chinese medicine treatment, you should avoid eating according to the doctor’s instruction. Therefore, you should change some incorrect ideas and establish a correct diet. So what are the foods that you should eat more after breast cancer surgery? During surgery, the loss of nutrients increases and the supplementation of nutrients through diet is greatly reduced, coupled with the consumption of the human body by surgery, therefore, patients should replenish the lost energy in time after surgery and eat more nutritious high-protein foods to help the wound healing and strengthen the immunity. Common high-protein foods include: milk, eggs, soybeans, black beans, cereals, poultry and fish, shrimp, etc., but red meat, such as beef, pork and lamb, should be eaten sparingly. Supplements rich in vitamins and fiber are quite useful both during surgery and radiotherapy, such as various vegetables and seasonal fruits: cabbage, tomatoes, shiitake mushrooms, carrots, spinach, fungus, watermelon, kiwi, grapes, apples, strawberries, pineapples, etc.
