Characteristics, treatment and scar (scar) formation of low-heat burns with hot water bags

Low heat burns caused by prolonged skin contact with hot water bags are serious localized burns, usually deep II to III degrees, but are often overlooked by patients due to loss of pain and lack of local symptoms, resulting in prolonged healing and severe scarring. The following is a picture of a typical hypothermic burn wound from onset to infection and finally healing after treatment. For your reference, it usually takes 2-3 months to heal, and there will be significant scarring after the healing process. During the treatment process, the following points should be noted: 1. Reduce the number and duration of walking on the ground as much as possible, and keep the affected limb elevated for as long as possible. 2.Regular wound dressing change is recommended at home by yourself. 3.After the course of the disease exceeds 3 weeks, you can take a bath. The trauma is not afraid of soaking and rinsing, do not leave the water untouched for a long time, bathing does not increase the risk of infection. 4.After healing, you must receive anti-scar treatment, see my other article for details. 5. If aesthetic requirements are high, early surgical treatment is recommended to shorten the course of the disease and reduce scar formation.
