Will using moxibustion for esophageal cancer help?

“Esophageal cancer belongs to the category of choking and cancer in Chinese medicine, and its clinical manifestations are obstruction of swallowing, difficulty in swallowing, vomiting and so on. Moxibustion cannot cure this kind of disease, but it has certain auxiliary effect.
1. The treatment of “diaphragmatic choking” is divided into phlegm and qi obstruction, fluid deficiency and heat, blood stasis, and qi deficiency and yangwei. In the syndrome of phlegm and qi obstruction, there is obstruction of the esophagus with discomfort, or even pain, depression and vomiting of phlegm; in the syndrome of fluid deficiency and heat junction, there is obstruction of swallowing with pain, emaciation, warmth of the hands and feet, and dryness of the skin; and in the syndrome of blood stasis and internal junction, there is obstruction of swallowing with a dark complexion, and a dark tongue with purple texture or dark red color with little fluids.
Qi deficiency and Yang micro evidence of swallowing food, cold hands and feet, shortness of breath and fatigue. Moxibustion is effective in dispersing blood stasis and warming yang in choking and Qi deficiency and Yang deficiency.
2. On the basis of “cancer disease”, it is divided into phlegm-congealed blood stasis syndrome, qi deficiency and yang micro syndrome, yin deficiency and internal heat syndrome, and liver depression and qi stagnation syndrome. In the case of phlegm-congealed blood stasis, there are obstruction of eating, petechiae on the tongue, etc.; in the case of qi deficiency and yang microcosmosis, there are inability to eat, emaciation, shortness of breath, etc.; in the case of yin deficiency and internal heat, there are difficulty in swallowing, afternoon fever, dry mouth and throat, etc.; in the case of liver-depression and stagnation of qi, there are difficulty in swallowing, and pain and distention in the two sides of the body.
Acupuncture and moxibustion have certain auxiliary therapeutic effects on the phlegm-congealed blood stasis, qi deficiency and yang microcosmosis, and liver depression and qi stagnation of cancer.
Moxibustion is not recommended for those who are suffering from yin deficiency and fire, pregnant women, and those who are suffering from solid heat symptoms. Choking and cancer are chronic diseases that are generally difficult to cure. When utilizing moxibustion for treatment, it is necessary to do so under the guidance of a doctor, and consult a doctor when discomfort occurs.
