There is no such thing as the most effective traditional Chinese medicine for gout. Depending on the type of gout, you can use Si-Miao-San combined with Xuan-Pao-Tang, Wu-Tou-Tang, Body Pain and Blood Stasis Expelling-Tang, and Duo-Wu-Pang-Sheng-Tang. 1. Damp-heat paralysis: redness, swelling and hot pain in the small joints of the lower limbs, refusing to be pressed, localized burning when touched, relieved when cooled; accompanied by fever, thirst and restlessness; red tongue with yellowish fur and slippery pulse. It can be treated with the combination of Si Miao San and Xuan Paralysis Tang. 2. Wind-cold-dampness paralysis (paralysis of limbs caused by wind, cold and dampness): pain in limbs and joints, or wandering pain, or severe pain in joints, with pain that does not move, or heavy swelling and pain in limbs and joints, with numbness of the skin, aggravated by cloudy and rainy days; thin white fur on the tongue, with a tight or dilated pulse. You can take Wu Tou Tang plus reduction. 3. Phlegm and stasis obstruction: swollen joints, or even swelling around the joints, localized soreness, numbness and pain, or “block scrofula” hard knot without redness; accompanied by dizziness, swelling of the face and feet, and chest and epigastric constipation; the tongue is fat, dark, with whitish moss, and the pulse is slow or slippery. It can be treated with the addition and subtraction of Body Pain and Blood Stasis Dispelling Tang. 4. Yin deficiency of the liver and kidney (deficiency of yin in the liver and kidney): prolonged recurrence of the disease, joint pain like a cane, local deformation of the joints, daytime and nighttime pain, numbness and insensitivity of the skin, difficulty in walking, constriction of the tendons and veins (spasm and convulsion due to wind-cold), unfavorable bending and stretching; dizziness and tinnitus, zygomatic redness (reddish color in the zygomatic bone area of the cheeks), dryness of the mouth; tongue with reddish fur and thin or fine-stringed pulse. You can take Dokshu Sangsang Tang with additional reduction. Please do not use the medicine by yourself.
