What are the causes of dizziness?

The diagnosis of dizziness is more complex. Dizziness is one of the common clinical symptoms with high prevalence and incidence, and is one of the most important reasons for outpatient visits, especially in neurology, otorhinolaryngology, geriatrics, emergency medicine, general internal medicine, cardiology, endocrinology, etc. Special attention is paid to psychiatry. Not only organic lesions, but also functional lesions can occur. In the past, doctors often diagnosed dizziness as caused by insufficient blood supply to the brain or cervical spondylosis, but the current medical view does not advocate this diagnostic view, which can be considered a diagnostic misconception. Common causes of dizziness: benign episodic positional vertigo (commonly known as otoliths), vestibular neuronitis, Ménière’s disease, cerebrovascular disease, etc. In addition, it is now caused by mental disorders that account for about 20% of outpatients.
