Axillary odor, commonly known as fox odor. It is named because of the odor of sweat secretion. It often occurs in the areas where the sweat glands are located, such as the armpits, feet, groin, and so on. Most of them are most serious in the armpits. Because of the high metabolism of adolescence, the secretion of sweat glands is also the most vigorous, armpit odor is often found at this time. Because of armpit odor, you may often face the strange eyes of others, often face covering the nose whispering …… Undoubtedly, these situations will cause harm to your physical and mental health in adolescence. You may become inferior, withdrawn, anxious and so on. There are two types of treatment for armpit odor: surgical and non-surgical. Non-surgical treatment is to use some drugs to inhibit the secretion of sweat glands or drugs that are destructive to the glandular tissue, these drugs are either not effective or temporary, and some of them are harmful to the body. Therefore, doctors mostly use surgical methods. In the earliest days, doctors tried to remove the sweat glands and the accompanying skin, with significant results. However, the surgical area left a very unsightly scar, which even affected significant movement of the upper limbs. Later, a “Z” or “S” shaped incision was made to remove the sweat glands without removing the skin, and the skin was locally reshaped and sutured to improve the scarring of the upper extremity. Although this is an improvement, it still leaves unsightly scars. Currently, the application of minimally invasive surgery for axillary odor removal has yielded good results. We all know that the skin has natural folds, and the axillae usually have 2-3 deeper folds, which are the most concealed areas. Our technique is to make a 3.0 cm incision in the fold (or sometimes two incisions, but still in the fold), remove the sweat glands by turning the skin, and then suture the incision. This is a more complete removal of the sweat glands and the scar is less visible. This is the most thorough and least invasive method available. The scar is left in the armpit, extremely hidden, and when the permanent removal of armpit odor! A friendly reminder: Because the surgical removal of sweat glands will subconsciously lift some skin, in order to allow for better healing of this skin and the soft tissue underneath. We usually make a gauze pack to hold the area in place and wrap it with a bandage. You may not be able to fully lower your arm for a while after the bandage is applied, just like Hercules. This usually takes no more than ten days and has little effect on your normal work and school schedule.
