Hyperthyroidism is an exuberant metabolism of the body due to excessive synthesis and secretion of thyroxine, and requires monitoring of the thyroid function for a definitive diagnosis. Different levels of hospitals charge different rates and the prices vary slightly. Generally speaking, the three items of thyroid function, including thyroid stimulating hormone, free thyroxine and free triiodothyronine, cost about$100 each time; the five items of thyroid function, including the three items of thyroid function plus thyroxine and triiodothyronine, cost about$160 each time; and the seven items of thyroid function, including the five items of thyroid function plus thyroglobulin antibody and thyroid peroxidase antibody, cost about$280 each time. Hyperthyroidism patients need to be rechecked once every four weeks when their condition is not stabilized, and once every six months after their condition is stabilized.
