Location of endometriosis

The most frequent sites of endometriosis are the pelvis, ovaries and peritoneum. When there is an invasion to the lower part of the peritoneum causing deep ectopic disease, a certain lifting pain in the local cervix is produced during gynecological internal examination and nodular ectopic foci are palpated, which can cause painful intercourse, accompanied by the occurrence of chronic painful manifestations, which can also manifest in the ovaries. Because the displaced foci develop in the ovaries, they can cause ovarian chocolate cysts, which can affect ovarian function and menstrual changes over time, producing dysmenorrhea and affecting the ability to conceive. It can also migrate to the myometrium, causing the uterus to enlarge in a round shape, spherical and hard, which is not conducive to the fertilization of the egg and can aggravate menstrual pain, which can also have an impact on a person.
