How long is normal for a newborn to sleep at one time

How long a newborn sleeps is normal and is closely related to hunger, the environment and individual differences. Most newborns usually wake up after 2 to 4 hours of sleep. Newborns usually sleep for a longer period of time, normally 16 to 22 hours a day on average. During this time, babies wake up whenever they feel hungry or uncomfortable. Depending on the individual baby, most newborns will wake up after 2 to 4 hours of sleep, but the exact time will not be fixed. There is no need to worry about how long a newborn sleeps as long as it does not affect normal diet, growth and development. It is recommended that you monitor your child’s physical condition and seek medical attention if he/she wakes up easily, cries excessively or is depressed.
