No change of uterine fibroids for 3 consecutive years does not mean that they have been stabilized, and patients still need to review the gynecological ultrasound once every 6 months~1 year. As a common benign tumor in gynecology, uterine fibroids grow in a relatively slow manner. Even if there is no significant growth in 3 consecutive years of review, it does not mean that the fibroids have reached stability. The vast majority of fibroids are benign lesions, but in the process of their continued growth, due to changes in blood supply or differentiation of cells within the fibroid, <1% of fibroids may undergo malignant transformation. Female patients with fibroids should consult the gynecologist in a timely manner to decide on the treatment according to the size of fibroids, growth rate, changes in menstrual flow, symptoms of pressure, fertility requirements, etc. If conservative treatment is chosen, the changes of fibroids should be closely monitored.
