What is the situation after laparoscopic surgery for appendicitis

Appendicitis is usually treated with a minimally invasive procedure, namely laparoscopic appendectomy, and most patients recover very well after laparoscopic surgery. Patients can eat liquid or semi-liquid food on the 1st postoperative day. It is recommended to get out of bed early to promote the recovery of the gastrointestinal tract and to facilitate anal venting. Patients may have mild pain in the wound on the first postoperative day, and prophylactic use of pain medication is recommended. On the second or third day after surgery, patients can basically pass gas and defecate, which means that they basically return to normal, and can eat semi-liquid food or fruits. At 4-5 days after surgery, if there is no redness, swelling, or hard nodules in the wound and no inflammation, and the abdomen is back to normal, most patients can be considered for discharge.
