Polymyxin B ointment is a peptide antibiotic, a broad-spectrum antibiotic, with good antibacterial effect on most bacteria. Its properties are off-white to light yellow ointment, mainly used to prevent bacterial infections on skin wounds such as cuts, abrasions, burns and post-operative incisions, and to relieve local pain, but not for intraocular use. Its usage is for external use, applied to the wounded area, 2-4 times a day, a course of treatment for 5 days, after the use of which adverse reactions such as allergy, burning sensation, redness and swelling can occur. Because this drug is rarely absorbed after being applied to the local skin, it generally does not interact with other drugs.
