How is adenomyosis treated?

Adenomyosis belongs to endometriosis, also known as endogenous endometriosis. Its treatment can be conservative or surgical. Conservative treatment may include oral short-acting contraceptive pills, intrauterine placement of levonorgestrel IUD system, and gonadotropin-releasing hormone shots. Short-acting birth control pills can reduce menstrual flow, pain and other symptoms. The levonorgestrel IUD system is a progestin and contains levonorgestrel, which can relieve menstrual cramps and shrink the ectopic uterine lining. Gonadotropin-releasing hormone is a drug that inhibits the central nervous system. Injecting this drug can quickly cause perimenopausal changes in women and achieve therapeutic goals. Conservative treatment does not have significant effect, then need to do surgical treatment, with fertility requirements can be retained uterus, that is, partial hysterectomy.
