Individualized stepwise sequential treatment of joint diseases

Recently, the advanced concept of individualized stepwise sequential treatment of joint diseases has been proposed, in order to develop the best specific treatment plan for different stages of joint diseases and specific conditions such as age, physical condition and economic status of patients, so that each patient can receive different individualized treatment and obtain the best results. There are many patients with knee pain, both young and old, and the nature and location of the pain varies widely, so there is no one way to treat all joint pain. For adolescents, rheumatoid joint and other connective tissue diseases should be ruled out; for middle-aged people, if there is pain in the knee joint when walking up and down stairs but no pain when walking on a flat road, most cases are patellofemoral arthropathy; for older people, osteoarthritis is considered. Also consider a history of trauma, because some doctors just give you an X-ray after a joint trauma and tell you that the bones are fine, but don’t forget that a person is not a skeleton, there are soft tissues that are injured. Just like the knee joint, you also have to rule out any meniscal damage, cruciate ligament damage, or joint capsule damage. In addition to plain x-rays, it is best to have MRI films for knee disorders to guide treatment. When knee disorders are present, it is important to see a specialist joint surgeon to avoid delays in diagnosis and treatment.
