Is ear picking safe?

Ear harvesting is a very safe method if handled by a professional otolaryngologist who applies the guidance of an otoscope and uses small otologic forceps or uses a suction device to get the cerumen out of the ear canal. The doctor’s technique is gentle during the operation, and with advanced instrumentation as a guide, it is not easy to damage the eardrum or the ear canal clinically, and does not lead to significant discomfort for the patient. If a patient sometimes has his ears picked by an unprofessional person, a relative of the patient or a doctor who is not a specialist on the roadside, there is a possibility that the operation may be too rough and damage the ear canal and the eardrum, resulting in bleeding in the ear canal and perforation of the eardrum, and sometimes the application equipment is not qualified for sterilization and the patient may easily develop a fungal infection in the ear canal and a bacterial infection inside the ear canal after the ear picking. It is safer to go to a regular hospital and have a professional doctor use professional equipment for ear harvesting.
