Chest X-ray or CT for lungs

Lung examination can be done both by chest X-ray and CT examination, and both examinations have their own advantages and disadvantages.
1. Chest X-ray: In some cases, in order to observe the condition of pneumothorax, pleural effusion, lobar pneumonia, etc., you can choose to do chest X-ray. This examination is not only economical but also convenient.
2. Chest CT examination: Chest CT examination has higher resolution and can observe smaller lesions, which is mostly used for lung nodule examination, etc. CT can not only see the location of the nodule, but also know the size and shape of the nodule as well as its surrounding adjacency, which cannot be replaced by chest X-ray. CT examination can find the lesions that can not be found on chest X-ray.
Whether to do CT or chest X-ray for lung checkups is based on the medical history and its related complaints, and the doctor’s experience in prescribing the relevant tests.
