HPV66 positive is not necessarily cancerous, but it is possible to become cancerous only with continuous high-risk HPV infection. HPV66 is a high-risk type internationally, but it is not a common high-risk virus in China, and the most common high-risk HPV viruses in China are 16, 18, 31, 33, 52 and 58 viruses. Compared with the above mentioned high-risk HPV66, HPV66 is relatively weak in pathogenicity, and it is possible for HPV66 to turn negative after the patient’s resistance is strengthened, so HPV66 positivity is not necessarily cancerous. Only persistent HPV66 positivity or the presence of other high-risk HPV infections with persistent infection may lead to cancer. Therefore, it is not necessary to be overly panic when HPV66 is found to be positive, but to maintain a good state of mind, improve the body’s resistance to regular re-examination, and perform cytological examination or colposcopy if necessary.
