How to treat high creatine kinase due to Rosuvastatin

If Rosuvastatin causes high creatine kinase, it is recommended to stop the drug temporarily. If the use of Rosuvastatin leads to high creatine kinase and there is a possibility of myopathy, it is generally recommended to stop the drug first and observe. If it is only transient, you can subsequently consider continuing to take it, but if it is high as soon as you take it, stopping it is recommended. Lipid-lowering therapy is necessary, and replacement of Rosuvastatin with another statin such as simvastatin may be considered, with continued monitoring of creatine kinase. If creatine kinase is elevated on any statin, it is recommended that the statin be discontinued, and if it is necessary to use the statin, a change to another type of lipid-lowering drug, such as ezetimibe, or lipitor, may be considered. Do not be afraid to seek regular treatment from a medical professional if you find a problem.
