How long does a child’s gastrointestinal cold usually last?

  Children with gastrointestinal colds usually recover gradually in 5-7 days, but there are certain individual differences that need to be determined on a case-by-case basis.  Gastrointestinal flu in children is a common disease, usually caused by viral infection of gastrointestinal dysfunction, the main trigger is the change of cold weather, cold air stimulates the stomach and intestines, mainly with symptoms such as bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting and other manifestations, occasionally fever. Since it is a viral infection, it takes some time to clear the virus, so the course of the disease is usually 5-7 days. When a child has a gastrointestinal cold, it should be distinguished from acute gastroenteritis. If the child does not pay attention to dietary hygiene, consumes unclean food, and has more serious nausea and vomiting, and the vomit has a pungent smell, the possibility of gastroenteritis needs to be considered.  Children with gastrointestinal colds should take more rest, keep warm, drink more warm water, eat a light, easy-to-digest diet, and not eat cold, spicy or greasy food. If the condition is serious or does not improve in a week, you should go to the pediatrician in time to avoid delays.
