It is usually possible to eat bread after rectal cancer surgery.
Bread contains carbohydrates as well as a small amount of vitamins and proteins, and eating it properly can provide energy for patients. However, it is not recommended to eat too sweet bread or bread with more butter to prevent bloating.
After rectal cancer surgery, it is suggested that diet should be light and easy to digest to reduce the burden on stomach and intestines, meanwhile, eat more high-protein and low-fat food, such as milk, eggs, fish, etc., to replenish nutrients for the body and promote the recovery of the organism. Reduce foods that are easy to bloat and rich in dietary fiber, such as lentils, soybeans, onions, sweet potatoes, celery and so on. Avoid spicy and stimulating food, cold and greasy food.
After rectal cancer surgery, one should develop good living habits, actively cooperate with doctor’s relevant treatment and have regular review.
