Mesalazine is mainly used for the treatment of ulcerative colitis, and it should be maintained for 10 minutes after being put through the anus to have effect.
After being inserted into the anus, mesalazine is mainly absorbed by the body in the rectum and the rectum-sigmoid conjunction. It can be directly absorbed by the intestinal mucosa after about 10 minutes after entering the body in general, which can directly and rapidly exert anti-inflammatory effects and bring about faster relief of symptoms, and does not need to be artificially expelled from the body.
Adverse effects of mesalazine mainly include dizziness, headache, abdominal pain and diarrhea, nausea and so on. It should not be used by those who are allergic to salicylates and their derivatives, those with hepatic or renal insufficiency, those with bleeding disorders, or those with gastric and duodenal ulcers; and it should be used with caution in children under 2 years of age and pregnant women.
Mesalazine needs to be used under the supervision of a doctor, avoid self-medication.
