Chinese law stipulates that, under normal circumstances, when a fetus reaches 28 weeks of gestation, it cannot be induced unless there are medical reasons, such as lethal diseases or serious developmental abnormalities.
Twenty-eight weeks of pregnancy is equivalent to the seventh month of pregnancy, belonging to the late stage of pregnancy, at which time the fetus has been gradually developed and can survive after birth. If there are no fetal developmental abnormalities or other diseases, labor cannot be induced. If serious chromosomal abnormality, genetic mutation or fetal developmental abnormality is found after examination, labor can be induced after medical evaluation and discussion by the Ethics Committee.
During the process of development, regular medical checkups are required, such as four-dimensional ultrasound and Down’s syndrome test, to understand the development of the fetus, and also pay attention to personal health care, timely detection of problems during pregnancy, and early treatment.
