Do endometrial polyps come back after removal?

Endometrial polyps may recur after removal. Endometrial polyps are often found during abnormal uterine bleeding, and the diagnostic process of abnormal uterine bleeding requires a hysteroscopy. If endometrial polyps are detected during the hysteroscopy, endometrial curettage, electrosurgery of the polyps, or simple scraping of the polyps is performed. If the endometrial polyp is still simple and has been removed, no special treatment is needed for the time being, according to the routine pathologic findings. However, if the polyp is not treated, the chance of recurrence of polyp is higher, because the recurrence of polyp has a certain relationship with progesterone, so considering that there is such a reason, progesterone can be applied to inhibit the chance of recurrence of polyp in the future.
