Reflux esophagitis after gastrectomy can be improved by diet modification and medication.
1. Adjusting diet: After gastrectomy, reflux esophagitis is easy to occur after eating and drinking due to the disappearance of cardia’s role. Diet should be adjusted appropriately, eat less and more meals. Avoid overeating, avoid spicy, acidic, high sugar, raw and cold and other stimulating foods, and avoid eating before going to bed. After eating, activities should be carried out appropriately to promote gastric emptying, which is conducive to improving the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux.
2. Medications: Medications that inhibit gastric acid, protect gastric mucosa and promote gastrointestinal motility can be taken to help relieve reflux symptoms. Acid-suppressing drugs include cimetidine and ranitidine. Gastric mucosa protection drugs include aluminum thioglycollate, magnesium aluminum carbonate and so on. Gastrointestinal stimulants include domperidone, etc.
All of the above drugs are prohibited for those who are allergic to them and should be taken according to the doctor’s instructions. If the patient is diagnosed with post-gastrectomy reflux esophagitis, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital in time, under the guidance of the doctor for targeted treatment.
