Can a broken muscle recover on its own?

Whether or not a torn muscle can recover on its own depends on the extent of the injury. In general, mild closed muscle tears can gradually recover on their own through rest, while severe injuries and muscle breaks caused by open injuries require treatment to recover. Most muscle ruptures are caused by traumatic violence, including closed muscle ruptures and sharp cuts, for closed muscle ruptures, mild closed muscle tears can be rested through braking, hot and cold compresses and other physical therapy, appropriate rehabilitation exercises, rebuild muscle fiber function, can gradually heal and recover on their own. Severe closed muscle breaks and open muscle breaks, most of them need surgical treatment to repair and suture the broken end of the muscle and remodel the structure and stability of the muscle fibers. After surgery, some patients require supportive immobilization to reattach the entire muscle fiber and allow the muscle to heal gradually. During the recovery period, active and passive muscle mobilization exercises should be performed to avoid joint stiffness and to gradually restore the volume, strength and endurance of the muscle. If a muscle break occurs, it is recommended that the patient go to the hospital in time for regular treatment.
