Can an abdominal ultrasound see intestinal problems?

Color ultrasound can detect obvious space-occupying lesions in the intestines, but is not sensitive to smaller space-occupying lesions such as polyps. Abdominal ultrasound is mainly used to look at substantial organs such as the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, uterus and ovaries. If there are space-occupying lesions in the intestines, such as colon cancer and colon polyps, abdominal ultrasound can see them, but the examination is not as effective as colonoscopy or abdominal CT. If diseases such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease are present, bowel problems cannot be seen with abdominal ultrasound alone. If you are suspected of suffering from intestinal problems, it is recommended that you visit the gastroenterology department of your hospital as soon as possible. By improving the colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, abdominal CT and other related tests, it can help to clarify the intestinal problems.
