Licorice and Herba Soup has the effects of warming the meridians and dispersing cold (warming the meridians of the human body and dispelling the cold in the body), dispelling wind and removing dampness (dispelling wind and dampness in the body). It is mainly used for the treatment of wind and dampness, bone and joint pain and other diseases. Licorice and Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae Soup is from the book “Treatise on Typhoid Fever” by Zhang Zhongjing of the Eastern Han Dynasty, which is mainly composed of four Chinese medicines, namely Atractylodes Macrocephala, Gui Zhi, Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae, Licorice. It is mainly used for treating the diseases of wind-dampness interplay, pain in the joints of the bones and joints, unfavorable flexion and stretching, dysuria, shortness of breath, bad wind, and slight swelling of the body. In this formula, Gui Zhi dispels wind and relieves epidemics, and passes Yang to transform Qi; Bai Zhu strengthens the spleen and dispels dampness (by tonifying the spleen to expel dampness); and Pian Zi warms the menstruation and disperses cold. The combination of the three herbs helps Yang to warm up the channels, taking into account both the surface and the inside, and dispelling dampness and facilitating the joints. Glycyrrhiza glabra harmonizes all the herbs (harmonizing the medicinal properties of different herbs) to slow down the development of the medicinal power, which helps to dispel the dampness. If there are symptoms, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time and not to use medication on one’s own.
