In Chinese medicine, chronic prostatic hyperplasia belongs to the category of “gonorrhea (increased frequency of urination, dribbling and pain)”, which is often diagnosed and treated by traditional Chinese medicine. For example, heat gonorrhea (burning and stinging pain when urinating, accompanied by urinary frequency and urgency, and discomfort of traction in the abdomen) is often used with the addition and subtraction of Bazheng San, hemorrhagic gonorrhea (the appearance of blood in the urine and accompanied by pain) is often used with the addition and subtraction of artichoke drink, and gaseous gonorrhea is often used with the addition and subtraction of Sinking Fragrance San, and so on. 1. Heat drenching: patients often have frequent and short urination, burning and stinging pain in the urethra, yellow and red urine, red tongue, yellow and greasy moss, slippery pulse and other symptoms, the treatment method is to clear away heat and detoxify the toxin (to remove heat and toxicity in the body), diuretic and diaphoretic (to improve the urine dribbling, urine volume is not passable), often using Bazheng San. 2. Stone drenching: patients with sand and stones in the urine, hard urination, or sudden interruption of urination, hot hands and feet, red tongue with little moss, thin pulse with counting and other symptoms, the treatment is mainly to clear heat and diuretic, drenching and removing stones. The treatment is based on clearing heat and diuresis, clearing drenching and removing stones, often using Shi Wei San. 3. Gonorrhea: the actual evidence manifests as astringent pain in urination, gonorrhea is not suitable, the moss is thin and white, and the pulse is heavy and stringy. Deficiency syndrome is manifested as astringent stagnation of urine, abdominal distension, urine leaking, white face, pale tongue, pulse is weak and thin. For treatment of solid symptoms, Li Qi is recommended to channel Qi, and for deficiency symptoms, tonifying the middle Jiao Qi (treating Qi deficiency by tonifying the spleen) is recommended; for solid symptoms, use Shen Xiang San, and for deficiency symptoms, use Tonifying the Middle Jiao Qi Tang.
