Is a total bilirubin of 22 considered high?

Total bilirubin 22μmol/L is considered mildly elevated. Clinically, the normal range of total bilirubin is 3.4~17.1 μmol/L, but due to the influence of various factors, which may lead to deviation of the test results, the normal value will also fluctuate up and down, so the total bilirubin of 22 μmol/L represents a mildly elevated. In addition, a total bilirubin of 22 μmol/L does not have clinical diagnostic value. There are many physiologic factors that can cause elevated total bilirubin, such as alcohol consumption and consumption of cholesterol-rich foods. Mildly elevated total bilirubin does not exclude the possibility of pathologic factors such as cholecystitis or cirrhosis. Therefore, when mildly elevated total bilirubin is detected, one should go to a regular hospital for a complete examination and early diagnosis.
