Antibiotics of the beta-lactam group are preferred for purulent tonsillitis, especially penicillin antibiotics such as amoxicillin.
Acute purulent tonsillitis is mainly dominated by type B hemolytic streptococcus. Systemic symptoms of purulent tonsillitis manifest as fever, chills, dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, weakness of the limbs and other symptoms; local symptoms manifest as sore throat, which can radiate to the ear, accompanied by dysphagia and other symptoms.
The antibiotics that are sensitive to it are amoxicillin, cephalosporin and other beta-lactam antibiotics. It has the effect of destroying the cell wall of bacteria, thus killing the bacteria, and is a time-dependent antibiotic, which needs to be used several times a day as prescribed by the doctor for better results. However, if the patient has frequent purulent infections of the tonsils, surgical removal can be performed if necessary.
Purulent tonsillitis, it is recommended to seek medical attention under the guidance of a doctor to use drugs, do not self-medication.
