Sleep suffocation wake up may be a precursor of myocardial infarction, or may not be, generally considered its related to physiological, cardiovascular disease, obstructive sleep apnea syndrome and so on.
1. Physiological: such as sleeping position is not good to affect the breathing, pillow is too high, too low, or air circulation and other conditions may affect the airway, may be suffocated to wake up during sleep.
2. Cardiovascular disease: such as coronary heart disease patients with narrow heart blood vessels caused by insufficient blood supply to the myocardium, myocardial infarction in severe cases, may appear to fall asleep and wake up; heart failure patients because of the decline in cardiac function, the increase in blood flow back to the heart during sleep caused by the heart burden will be suffocated to wake up.
3. Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome: Obese people are common, especially those with short and thick necks, snoring is more serious during sleep, and even apnea occurs, and patients will wake up from suffocation, which is a risk factor for cardiovascular and cerebral vascular diseases, and can easily lead to sudden death.
If the patient falls asleep and wakes up, it is recommended to go to the hospital as soon as possible, to clarify the cause and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
