Clinically, FMS is often caused by physiologic factors, vitreous blood accumulation, vitreous inflammation and so on.
1. Physiological factors: FMS may be caused by physiological factors, such as high myopia, age and other causes of vitreous structure degeneration, collagen collapse, vitreous liquefaction. This leads to vitreous clouding and the symptom of flying mosquito.
2. Vitreous blood: when the eye tissue trauma or surgery, caused by retinal tears or retinal small blood vessel rupture bleeding, blood or exudate may enter the vitreous humor, the amount of blood is relatively small, it will lead to the eyes of the black shadow floating mosquito performance.
3. Vitreous inflammation: when patients with vitreous inflammation, there may be inflammatory exudate, inflammatory cells in the vitreous. Patients therefore appear pathological mosquito, mainly manifested in front of the black shadow, but also may affect the patient’s vision.
